What Pill Lens ID uses

The app uses pill photos, color, shape, imprint text, score and speckle details, and notes you choose to enter. No account or login is required.

Local storage

Photos, private notes, Cabinet items, and recent scans are stored on your device. Deleting the app removes this local data, subject to your device backup settings.

Online pill lookup

When you run a search with an imprint, the imprint text is sent to the public openFDA Drug Labeling API. Pill photos, Cabinet records, and personal identifiers are not sent for this lookup. Public medicine records may link to DailyMed for more detail.

Tracking, ads, and sale

Pill Lens ID has no third-party advertising and does not track you across apps or websites. We do not sell or rent health information or pill photos.
